Intel PRO/100 Intelligent Server Adapter driver

I211/I217-V Windows 10 LACP teaming fails

$

Hello,

after the update to Windows 10 (x64, Build 10240) the creation of a teaming group (static or IEEE802.3ad) with a I211+I217-V NIC fails.

Drivers have been upgraded to the latest version available and multiple reinstallations with reboots din't help either. Whenever the group creation wizzard is used and a groupname (several tried), the adapters and LACP have been selected, a Windows pop-up appears to tell me group creation has failed.

However the Windows Device Manager shows a newly created "Intel Advanced Network Services Virtual Adapter", so some kind of configuration seems to get done.

Using Windows 7 SP1 x64 the exact same setup worked flawlessly for months, so Win10/the driver are the likely culprit.

Is anyone experiencing similar problems and/or is this a known bug? Feedback on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Famaku

Intel 82579V integrated gigabit network adapter

All,

My integrated nic stopped working after windows 10 upgrade. The newest drivers from the Intel site does not fix the issue. I even tried the drivers for 8.1, 8, and Windows 7. None of them work. Nic is integrated into a Maximus IV Gene-Z motherboard. Nic will not connect to the Internet. Upgraded to Windows 10 from a Windows 7 install where the nic was working without issues.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Mechanical dimension for E10G42BFSR

Hi,

May I know the mechanical dimension of this ethernet card (E10G42BFSR)?
The datasheet which we have download from Intel website does not have the overall height profile that we need.

The dimension is based on the L and W. It doesn’t have the overall height as we need to know if the heatsink will protrude beyond the bracket.

We are concern that the height of the heatsink on the Intel Server adapter card might block our chassis as we are installing it on a 1U system.

Please help to advise the mechanical dimension of the card. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Chong

Lost internet connection with on board ethernet 1218-V

Hi Community,

I recently updated my new PC from Win 8.1 to Win 10. All was working well for 5 or so days...then...came home to find internet would not connect.

Tried updating to Win10 drivers - no difference. 3 other older PC's on same network updated to Win 10, no problems.

MSI board - X99A SLI Plus.

I notice that despite uninstalling and reinstalling the adapter that network connection number stays at (2). In the past when I have done this the connection number increases. Makes me wonder if it is actually fully uninstalling?

The driver properties shows the newly installed driver, is shown as working and normal LAN access is working OK.

Would editing the registry for this device help with a full uninstall. If so, does anyone have a reference I should be looking for in the registry?

Any help on this very frustrating problem would be really appreciated.

Windows 10 compatibility

I have a motherboard with Intel 82563EB on board. I upgraded this machine to windows 10 (everything was working fine in win 7) and there's no compatible drivers from your site, or from msft updates or from the mb manufacturer. Does anyone know any trick to get this working? It's frustrating.

I've tried installing the w 8.1 drivers and it says wrong OS.

I've tried in compatibility mode and it says I don't have intel adapter installed.

Any ideas? Whill these get supported soon? I know it's an old chip but seriously this machine is more powerfull than most of our newer systems and I don't want to retire it because the Intel NIC doesn't work.... ( everything else does).

Problem with Installation of Intel PRO 1000 PT

Hi,

I have a problem with the installation of the Intel PRO 1000 PT dual port on a Win 10 PC.

When I open SetupDB.exe with administrative rights, it says that there are no Intel NICs present on the system.

Windows already displays the 2 adapters on the devmgmt.msc and installed the default drivers.

Although the adapter works with the default win drivers, I want to use the ANS options for teaming.

I downloaded the latest driver for Win 10 x64.

Is this a known issue or is there any work around for this?

Many thanks

Chris

connessione ADSL a singhiozzo dopo installazione win 10

Settings for Intel Pro/100 VE ntwork adapter

My PC (HP Media PC M7183C) came with the above adapter. My ISP is Comcast and I am paying for their Blast service which is supposed to give me at least 105 mbps.

Running a speed test I am getting download speeds in the low 70 mbps. I had a Comcast tech come to my home and he connected his laptop to my network and he was able to achieve speeds well in excess of the 105 mbps. His indication to me is that perhaps my network card is not functioning correctly or the settings for the card need to be changed. The driver version I am running is 8.0.47.0 which is dated 12/6/07.

Are there actually settings that could be changed for this adapter or is it possibly too old to achieve a faster download speed or should it be replaced?

Installed Windows 10 NIC drivers but MS says still not compatible?

My motherboard has a "Intel Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V" NIC built into it.

I have installed the latest Win10 compatible drivers (ver 20.2) from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/71305/Intel-Ethernet-Connection...

However, Microsoft's "Get Windows 10" compatibility checker still says "Unfortunately, this PC is unable to run Windows 10" reason "There are no supported networking devices".

How do I resolve this?  Looks like there is a communications gap between Intel (who claims ver 20.2 drivers are compatible) and Microsoft (who thinks that they are not).

BTW, my motherboard is http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Anniversary/index.us.asp?cat=Downlo...

They have ver 20.2 listed there as well.

Can't see Intel x710 FCoE device after ProSET installation

$

We recently purchased an Intel X710-DA2 Converged Network Adapter to provide both 10G network and FCoE connectivity to Cisco Nexus 5000 switches. This is installed in an Intel Server System S2600GZ server running Windows 2012 (non-R2).

The Intel drivers and ProSET were installed from the v20.2 drivers CD, however there was no option as described in the documentation to select FCoE.

Do I need to enable the boot ROM, even though we do not want to boot from SAN, to enable FCoE? If so, where do I find the BootUtil for Windows 2012?

Thanks

Hi all,

I've installed FreeBSD 10.2-STABLE on a server with 2*CPU E5-2643v3 (with HyperThreading on) and Intel XL710 4*10G SFP+ card.

At first I updated FreeBSD drivers to 1.4.0 (from download.intel.com).

I see next strange thing - Every acive ixl interface creates 24 queues (6 core *2 (HT) *2 CPU) but uses only 16-17 of them:

Configuring XL710 on Centos 7

$

I am trying to configure a XL710 interface card on Centos 7 with two 10G ports. The host is a DELL R610.

I have installed the latest drivers and up graded the firmware.

The network card does not come live - I have it connected to another R610 with IXGBE interfaces through a optical/copper interface - which shows that the optical interfaces of the XL710 are not live.

When I try yo use QCU to configure the interface it does not recognize the interface, but when I run nvmcheck4e it recognizes the interfaces.

Is my problem that I cannot set the configuration through QCU or is it something else?

Regards

John

SR-IOV and other features & protocols

Hey all,

I'm using Intel 10 Gigabit 82599 NIC in a kvm environment in SR-IOV mode, and I have a few questions:

1. If I'm working with untagged traffic, is it possible to work with VFs in port-trunking mode? isn't there a possibility for a loop in that case?

If it's possible, is there any configuration that should be done in the level of VFs or L2 classifier?

2. is it possible to move a multi-cast from one VF to another on the same PF? is there a configuration needed for that sake?

3. Is STP protocol supported when working with VFs?

4. Is it possible to start a VM which I attached a VF to, if the PF of this VF is down? (down in ifconfig terms)

Thanks a lot in advance,

Shaham

Intel Virtual Network Adapter

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, but I need help removing an Intel Virtual Network Adapter from my system. I had 2 adapters setup in a LAG configuration, but something happened and now I have an Intel Virtual Network Adapter in my device manager under network adapters that I can't get rid of. I've removed and uninstalled every single network adapter in my system, but when I try removing or uninstalling this Virtual Network Adapter, nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a VM (VMWare virtual machine) on which I installed Windows 7.  The default Network Adapters are Intel(R) PRO 1000 MT for which I'm trying to configure VLAN tagging.  I downloaded the latest version of PROWinx64.exe and when I run it, it eventually throws the error, "No Intel adapters present..."

Despite the adapters appearing in the Device Manager

When I try to update the drivers, Windows tells me, "The best driver software for your device is already installed."

SR-IOV and port trunking

$

Hey all,

In my setup I have 2 PFs that on each of them I defined a single VF (p1p1 with VF 0 and p1p2 with VF 0).

I have a VM which I attached with these two VFs, and on my VM I defined these two ports as trunk group.

Problem is that when arp request is sent from my VM via one of the VF and comes back via the other VF it is dropped because MAC address does not match.

My question is - does SR-IOV support port trunking? How should it be configured?

Thanks,

Shaham
